A controvertial issue...

This is a very controvertial issue that i hope every reader here will hav an open mind and think of it properly before commentin.Tis issue is about the Islam religion against dogs. Here goes...
Dogs,as we know it is regarded as man's best friends. So i always ask my muslim frens."why does ur religion discriminate against dogs???"They were people i know who are open minded and jus treated this as an inquiry. Most of them told me that their religion regards dogs as dirty animals. They said that dogs do not clean up after doin their "business".So wat difference does that make cats???Jus because they bury their shit???And lick their legs after that???Eeeuuuuu...yukk...U call that clean???Dogs are not reluctant to take their baths while we hav to struggle like hell jus tryin to get a cat into the bathroom.I know how it feels cuz i worked in a pet shop before.Got scratches to prove it.Dogs are faithful animals. If u feed a stray dog once,it will stay jus outside your gate for sometime unless you keep feedin it *da dog mus know u personally offered it food*.A stray cat on da other hand, will come to get food and would run off once it's full and would only return wen u hav more *referrin to the cat in my back alley*.Even a cat owned by sumone would run out of the house and some may not even return.A dog however, can be taught to stay in the house. Can we ever train a cat???We could take a dog out for a walk as a companion instead of joggin alone but no one could walk a cat.A dog is known for its abilities to help the disable, blind and handicapped,by bein a guide and companion.Try askin a cat to fetch ur slippers or guide u thru a busy road.Even armed forces such as the army and police would use dogs for search and reacue and drug detection purposes.Would a cat sniff out a kilo of heroin from a bag???That answers my question.Everytime i hear bout sumone mention bannin dogs,i really get ticked off. They hav done nothin wrong except for a few cases, which maybe is the owner or the victim's fault.Dogs would only attack if it is provoked or had been tortured before. Most people would keep big dogs to guard their assets.Would u rely on a cat to guard RM1mil in ur house???Whenever a person goes public and hints out to authorities to ban dogs in the community,i really feel like scouldin my opinions at them. And these people are concerned jus because dogs had bitten their muslim people. If it was a chinese or indian who got attacked, they wouldn't giv a thought to that report. So to those of u who do rare dogs, there are muslims out there who do realise that dogs are better than cats.A customer told me this before.I'm not discriminatin cats.I like cats too.But i jus dun see why religion would discriminate a multi-talented animal.
After listenin to my complaint, wat is ur opinion???I would really like to know.I don't mind whose side u're standin on.I jus like listenin to good opinions.

really controversial i shud say...

but controversies can be twist and turn and look at a different perspective...

for me, i prefer dogs to cats. And not all Muslims dislike dogs, it's just that they are bound to their religion...and we cannot change their religious beliefs...

because I have Malay friends who like dogs as well as cats...it's just that they are not allowed to...that's all..

and in the case of dogs as trackers... dogs have better sense of smell and hearing that cats... that's why cats don't sniff out drugs...

and some ppl prefer animals which are more independant...not that dogs aren't...most dogs need their owners to groom them, play with them, talk to them...but if you provide food n shelter for cats and let them be...they'll do just fine... i've seen fine examples of this...

well, as i have said... it's all about perspectives... different ppl think differently... don't let anyone get the better of u, juz bcos they hate dogs n depise them... i can see that u r a true dog-lover... :p

Allah Taãla created the dog from among His creation. This does not mean that we should love the dog. It is perhaps the indoctrination of the Western culture that 'The dog is Man's best Friend'. The theory that 'dogs are very dependent on Human affection' is a myth - again culture and custom has helped to develop this unnatural behavior.

Allah Taãla the Creator of this Universe - having created the dog would surely have known that the dog requires Human affection and love to exist in this world. Rasulullah (Sallallaaahu Álayhi Wasallam) would have advised us to keep dogs as pets. On the contrary, we are instructed not to keep dogs as pets and 'love' them as exemplified by the non-Muslims. Remember our life is structured and bound by the Shariah i.e. The Noble Qurãn and the beautiful example of Rasulullah (Sallallaaahu Álayhi Wasallam).

The saliva of a dog is Najis (impure). If it touches the clothes or body, that portion also becomes impure and must be washed. And Allah Ta'ala Knows Best

Well... Muslims live by the example set by Nabi Muhammad (s.a.w if i must). Personally I'd just live my life the way I want it, keep a dog even if it's against my religion. Don't let religion and beliefs restrict your choices. You have a choice... you have free will. That's to all you out there... not just Muslims' concerns with dogs...
