The past weekend was great.
Yes yes I know. I’m blogging too late. But don’t blame me. I had to wait for a friend to upload the photos for your viewing. Or you’ll just be looking at plain texts.
Aaanyyywayy, Friday was also nice.
Watched District 9 after several recommendations from friends.
And it didn’t disappoint.
Most alien movies out there are really cliché with not-really original plots.
It’s always the same ol’ plot of aliens coming to earth to conquer or destroy. What’s so great about earth that they have the urge to destroy?
And then Peter Jackson came along and showed a different view of aliens being on earth. The news report point of view was also a fresh change. It gave a unique perspective of a movie about aliens and made it more real-to-life.
The movie also portrayed mankind’s greed in wanting to obtain anything destructive that we can get out hands on.
Plus, this time the movie isn’t set in the US like it always does. Anything destructive always seem to like destroying the Americans than any other countries.
But no. This time it’s set in South Africa. And it also reveals life of South Africans and the Nigerians.
Recommended to watch.
On Saturday, I thought it was going to be a boring weekend.
With no prior plans, I thought I was just going to spend it sitting home and rot. And it’s not a good thing.
Being stressed and bored by work for 5 days of the week, I like to be able to enjoy myself and have some fun during the weekends.
That way, it’s not wasted on just slacking around and being lazy. And it’s the only time of the week that we can enjoy. Sleeping is an everyday thing. We can sleep when we’re dead.
Anyway, I received an invitation from a friend for his open house party a few weeks ago. At first I didn’t really know which friend’s house as it wasn’t indicated and I initially didn’t plan to attend.
Then a friend messaged me to ask if I’m attending and he indicated it was his open house party.
Seeing that I was free, I decided to go. Wise decision.
His house has been newly renovated to include a new pool room, with a new pool table and a set of nice pool equipments.
His parents barbequed food and the environment was great.
A few of my college friends attended and we were having a blast, joking and fooling around non-stop.
Few had decided to try out the host’s Wii and were having a ball playing boxing and tennis.
The host went crazy with his DSLR and took pictures of almost anything…in his house. But with friends included.
The fun at night didn’t stop right there.
I had a second pool outing. But this time it was with Lionel, Brian and Jen Shen.
2 sessions of pool with 2 different sets of friends. And the usual yumcha session right after pool at night before retiring home to recuperate.
Sunday was more mundane as I had to help with some shifting in my family’s shop.
Those metal gondola racks are bloody heavy even without anything on. It needed two *ahem*men to lift it slightly and drag it to it’s new position.
Don’t underestimate metal rackings. They’re heavier than they look.
My shoulders feel like it’s about to pop out.
